Welcome to the Home Page of The Arts Society Nidd Valley, formerly the Nidd Valley Decorative & Fine Arts Society. You can read about our recent rebrand and change of name in the News section of our website.

Since the launch of our branch, we have quickly grown to over 150 members. We are proud to be part of the vibrant cultural scene in Harrogate and Yorkshire, and enjoy meeting for monthly lectures, trips and events.

The Arts Society’s core belief is that the arts are essential to enriching people’s lives. For the past 50 years, it has been committed to opening the world of the arts for everyone, connecting people to the arts and to each other. The social aspect of membership is intrinsic in everything that we do.

Here in our part of Yorkshire, we provide opportunities for members to get together to enjoy all aspects of the arts: at monthly lectures, on the 3rd Monday  of every month (except December); on tours, visits and events; in hands-on workshops and Special Interest Days; and even on trips away. Our location means that we are lucky to be able to enjoy the highlights of Yorkshire and all it has to offer, but we often explore further afield as well.

We also provide interesting opportunities to volunteer in a wide variety of conservation projects or in other arts-related work within the local community.

Do please explore our website to find out more about who we are and what we do and how you can join us.

Members may be interested in lectures offered by our neighbouring societies, The Arts Society York and The Arts Society North East. Members attending other societies' lectures would have to pay their guest fee. To learn more about the Arts Society and its nationwide activities please visit The Arts Society homepage.

Please visit https://theartssociety.org/nidd-valley to view forthcoming lectures whilst we complete are local site.
