No name is more evocative of Bohemian life and revolutionary art in Paris than Montmartre which became the inspiration and home to some of France’s greatest artists. This lecture charts the course of this extraordinary artistic life from Renoir at the Moulin de la Galette to Toulouse Lautrec at the Moulin Rouge  to a group of artists headed by Picasso at the Bateau Lavoir painting canvases which shook the foundations of Western art.
